- Maintenance: Regularly inspect for wear on pin holes and link surfaces. Clean with mild detergents; avoid harsh solvents. Many plastic chains are lubrication-free, but if needed, use food-grade or plastic-compatible lubricants.
Sprockets and Long Pitch Conveyor Chain
- Sprockets: Must match the chain pitch and roller diameter. Plastic sprockets are common for low-load applications; metal sprockets (steel or stainless) are used for higher loads or abrasive conditions. Proper tooth profile reduces wear and improves engagement.
- Long Pitch Conveyor Chain: Refers to chains with larger pitch sizes (e.g., 50 mm, 75 mm, or custom), used for long-distance, heavy-item conveying with fewer sprocket teeth, allowing larger product spacing and simpler drive designs. These are often manufactured with reinforced sections for increased tensile strength.
